Sam Green | Jazz Drummer
Recording and performing with musicians from the worlds of jazz, folk, rock, pop and contemporary music, drummer Sam Green readily transitions between studio and live performance, in demand for both.
As a composer, Sam’s inspiration is founded in nature, drawing inspiration from the lakes and fells of Cumbria, the valleys of South Wales and the coastline of Norway, where fjords and mountains combine to create a natural theatre in which to amplify the presence and musicality of nature.
Whilst collaborating on a number of varied projects, Sam’s musical soul is firmly rooted in jazz, composing/recording original music and performing live. Touring internationally from the age of 20 and opening the ‘Sligo Jazz Project’ festival in 2023 with the Nils Kavanagh Trio, Sam’s reputation quickly stretched beyond the vibrant UK jazz scene.
Originally from Leeds, Sam relocated to Cardiff in 2021, studying at the renowned Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD) and subsequently at The Grieg Academy in Bergen, Norway.
